May 2003 News Downline Records will be releasing the Bands Across America CD Compilation this month. Valkyries will be representing the state of Maine with 2 of our original songs: Earthplane and Pebbles n Bones. The compilation will represent 35 bands from across the United States. Info on where and how to pick up your copy, will be coming soon - so stay tuned.
April 2003 News Valkyries will be back for an encore TV performance on Live from the Sound, which will be aired on Harpswell Community TV (HCTV14) on Sat. 4/19/2003 (8-10pm). This is a live coffee house and it will be the final show of the 2003 season. You can catch the re-runs all summer on local UHF Channel 14.
March 2003 News We welcome our newest Valkyrie (Urdhr) to our line-up. She joins us on bass and vocals and she totally rocks.
Valkyries have partnered with USM to Celebrate Women's History Month and raise some much needed funds for the Women's Resource Center. The center provides empowerment and support services to women. Due to budget cuts this year, they could really use your support at this show - 5 dollar admission. 7pm Nance Cartonio & Heather Caston, 8pm Antara and 9pm Valkyries.
February 2003 News We've had 2 of our original tunes from our 2003 Demo CD 'Earthplane' and 'Pebbles 'n Bones' selected to represent Maine on a CD compilation titled 'Bands Across America'! This compilation will be release on Downline Records, a cool indie label out of the Chicago area and is targeted for March 2003. Check out a sneak peak of the CD cover Click here! Stay tuned for more exciting news about this compilation in the near future.
January 2003 News We'll be appearing on 2 TV shows this month! So, you have 2 opportunities to catch us - Tune in to Harpswell Community TV on UHF channel 14. Sat. 1/11/2003 (8:00-9:00pm) for our LIVE performance on the debut of 'Live from the Sound'. This is a new show that will be broadcasting a live coffeehouse on Sat. nights 8-10pm through mid-April. You can also catch us on Fri. 1/31/2003 (8:30-9:00pm) and Mon. 2/3/2003 (2:30-3:00) tune in to our performance on Dave Bullard's show 'Coast to Coast'.
December 2002 News We're in the recording studio preparing for our upcoming TV & Radio appearances in Jan./Feb. 2003. We will be pre-releasing our 1st single in early January from our upcoming CD to be released in 2003.
November 2002 News We've been selected to participate in SongFest 2002, presented by WBOR 91.1FM (Bowdoin College Radio). The festival will feature 20 Singer/Songwriters & Musicians. Our showcase will be happening some time between 9:30-10:30pm on Sat. 11/23/2002. Join us for a great night of music at Jack Magees Pub in Smith Union, Bowdoin College. Show is Free (8pm-midnight).
